 Program Information

Business Office Technology (BOT) prepares students for employment in today's business offices which are technology intensive. The curriculum is also appropriate for those wishing to update current skills. Emphasis is on the computerized office and development into supervisory positions.

Our up-to-date computer lab allows the BOT program to provide instruction in the latest and most popular software demanded by business and industry. Beginning with fundamental keyboarding skills, this program builds proficiency with common office applications such as word-processing programs, spreadsheets, and databases.

 

Program Learning Outcomes

A student who completes any degree or certificate in the Business Office Technology program will, among other things, be able to:

  • Explain the basic language and concepts within the field of business office technology.
  • Use computer input devices (e.g., keyboard and mouse) to properly and efficiently create and edit documents in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and electronic communications such as email.
